The IT Services Group is at the heart of the value chain for Lionfish.  Our team which consists of Product, Core Engineering, IT Services, Support and Architecture are a tight knit operating unit where excellence is the standard.

Architecture is at the very foundation of what we do.  Our customers expect that their solutions are built and delivered to the highest levels which begins with solid architecture.  This includes re-fitting customers’ legacy platforms that can no longer keep up with modern business demands.

The Director of Architecture leads all aspects of the architecture function and its team. They are responsible for directing the delivery of the solution portfolio by overseeing and guiding the Core Engineering and IT Services teams.  

The successful Director of Architecture has strong relationships across the customer portfolio as well as the technical teams throughout the organization. You must have the ability to balance future strategic needs against immediate tactical short term goals, and be able to convey the rationale of choosing one over the other. 

What you'll do

  • Lead and develop all aspects of the Lionfish architecture team including the management of people, projects, and processes.
  • Planning, design, implementation and management of Lionfish services to support our customer needs
  • Develop, implement & continuously improve on processes and systems to fulfill our stakeholder and customer needs
  • Create a digital transformation roadmap with buy-in and support from the Core Engineering and IT Services teams
  • Work alongside the Senior Director of Information Technology to set strategic direction based on business initiatives and ensure this direction is presented and communicated to the executive and other key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with business units, product development, and cyber security teams in the planning and sizing of infrastructure supporting new products, applications and services
  • Contribute to the resolution of incidents and technical issues and ensure the timely communication to key stakeholders to root cause analysis
  • Provide growth and career development of Lionfish technology services staff
  • Participate in technology / project planning sessions, and work with key stakeholders to ensure on-time implementation of technical solutions
  • Responsible for understanding the customer relationships and how services are provisioned to ensure that operational risks are understood by the relevant stakeholders
  • Day-to-day management activities of the Architecture team.
  • Minimize downtime on production systems and ensure service level agreements are being met
  • Facilitate communication between IT teams and the other business units
  • Ensure infrastructure adheres to applicable disaster recovery and business continuity service agreements

What you'll bring

  • Proven, high level of experience leading an international high performing, technology team that spans multiple time zones.
  • Knowledge of wide variety of technology and infrastructure components including servers, networking, storage, databases, operating systems and various hardware.
  • Strong business acumen backed with commercial sense.
  • Experience reporting, presenting and communicating with customers, executives and all levels within the business
  • Demonstrated ability to convey technical details into business terms and vice-versa
  • Proven project management and time management skills
  • Great agile engineering practices
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization, and English communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively build internal and external relationships including management of the vendor relationship lifecycle
  • Strong negotiation and resolution skills
  • Ability to recruit, motivate, mentor and lead a team
  • Excellent and resourceful problem-solving skills, adaptable with a willingness to navigate complex stakeholder relationships
