Your mission

As a Platform Engineer within ITSG, your aim is to provide our customers with highly reliable, performant and cost effective Server, Storage and Virtualization infrastructure across a diverse range of use cases.

What you'll do

  • Manage and monitor the organizations VMware and Openstack virtualization platforms as well as our Enterprise Storage Platforms storage infrastructure; this across multiple locations from a capacity point of view.
  • Create simple yet powerful deployment processes that increase both velocity and quality.
  • Participate in the design of data management policies, processes, and solutions for our enterprise. Specifically, this includes backup, replication, retention, archival, data access security, disaster recovery, and high availability.
  • Work closely with our Datacentre engineering team ensuring all hardware processes from selection, specification, architecture and bootstrapping are as efficient and seamless as possible.
  • Maintain up to date documentation of our environments, sharing knowledge freely with other teams as required.
  • Proactively monitoring the infrastructure for issues and capacity planning.
  • Work with vendors and our purchasers to procure appropriate products and services.

What you'll bring

  • 4+ years of industry experience of enterprise level storage and virtualization administration.
  • Deep operational knowledge of Enterprise Storage Platforms.
  • Experience in the maintenance of VMware clusters with VMware Infrastructure/vSphere/vSAN.
  • Hands on experience with Open source virtualization solutions like Openstack, KVM, Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Diagnostic expertise, especially troubleshooting common storage/guest/host issues.
  • Experience with automation and scripting is highly desirable. e.g Ansible Experience with automation
  • An understanding of Cloud concepts across Private and Public cloud platforms aligned with production experience on one or more of the following: Azure, AWS, GCP
