What you'll do

Our fiercely world class Marketing and technology division is expanding and we need people like you.  If you love what you do, always looking for a better way and if you’re not afraid to take a few risks to make something really great, then you’re our sort of person.  Come help us grow our new Malaga Publishing office, where you will join a team of creative technologists and developers to offer a wide range of skills and services, including front and backend web development, mobile development, app development and more.  Involved from kick off to last code push, you will turn ideas into digital experiences. 

The Information Security Manager reports to the Head of IT-Operations and is responsible for the security of both our global publishing platform and the corporate security of our growing group of companies that contribute to it. To reach this goal, you will build and lead a team of IT Security professionals, contractors and the projects needed to ensure our Publishing Organization’s security meets our business needs.  Will be responsible for the success of your team members in both their day to day tasks and their career growth.  You are an individual who has a technical mind and has a passion for delivering solutions in the ever-changing world of technology. You will collaborate with our business and technical stakeholders within the Publishing group and the larger strategic partnership to define and improve our security policies, procedures and best practices and lead the Information Security team in delivering on those targets.  You will build consensus, drive technical decisions and collaborate with the larger company for their security needs to develop new insights that could further enhance our organization.

You will

  • Build and lead the Information Security Team through the definition, execution and continuous improvement of the security stance of our global publishing platform;
  • Define, document and communicate data security policies within our organization;
  • Work with technical staff such as software development, DevOps and IT Operations to train and coach them to a more comprehensive security awareness;
  • Liaise with project leaders in order to establish security compliant designs;
  • Advocate for corporate information security policies and procedures to staff and promote a sense of security awareness within the organization;
  • Perform regular external and internal security audits and respond to audits performed by our partners.  Report on these findings, highlight vulnerabilities and work with the relevant IT teams to ensure these risks and threats are mitigated;
  • Lead you team in generating regular reports of threat risk assessments;
  • Define the process for and oversee internal security investigations and incident responses;
  • Stay abreast of current security exploits and industry best practices to ensure the organization is protected from the latest known threats;
  • Educate and collaborate across all of the Publishing departments to ensure Corporate Security objectives are aligned properly with the business’ strategic objectives;
  • Coach and mentor team members in their growth as employees.

What you'll bring

  • Calm and consistent leadership of technical professionals in a fast-paced work environment;
  • University degree in related field and 5-7 years of relevant Information Security experience;
  • A pragmatic understanding of both Cloud-first environments and “on prem” as well: Kubernetes, Docker, Openstack, VMWare, Jenkins, JIRA, Exchange, MySQL, Terraform, etc.;
  • Linux Server skills, particularly from a security point of view;
  • Understanding of software development and deployment standards;
  • Extensive experience with high-availability services practices in high-value environments;
  • Development experience (Shell, PHP, Python, Drupal, WordPress, GIT);
  • Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and networking in general;
  • Creative thinking and motivated self-starter with an ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and technologies;
  • Keen to lead projects from start to finish with no supervision;
  • Strong ability to work within aggressive and dynamic timelines;
  • Excellent team player and positive contributor to the culture of the business;
  • Must be able to travel.
