What you'll do

Our fiercely world class Marketing and technology division is expanding and we need people like you.  If you love what you do, always looking for a better way and if you’re not afraid to take a few risks to make something really great, then you’re our sort of person.  Come help us grow our new Malaga Publishing office, where you will join a team of creative technologists and developers to offer a wide range of skills and services, including front and backend web development, mobile development, app development and more.  Involved from kick off to last code push, you will turn ideas into digital experiences. 

The QA Automation Manager will lead automation initiatives on various projects & work closely with other departments in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software on time. Will also be responsible for leading multiple initiatives, set strategy & direction for test automation

  • Advocate automation best practices through coaching and mentoring;
  • Assess performance of team members towards departmental & company’s goals;
  • Effectively asses the change & shift gears comfortably if needed;
  • Navigate uncertainty with a calm mind, providing a sense of control and clarity by showing a path forward and inspire confidence through progress;
  • Embrace big challenges as opportunities for growth.

Strategy & Technical

  • Expand upon existing automation frameworks and build on new frameworks from scratch both for Web applications and Rest API’s;
  • Develop innovative automation approaches, techniques, and solutions to address business and technical needs;
  • Continuously integrate and maintain automated test suites with our CI/CD pipeline;
  • Research or attend conferences and stay up to date on the latest tools, technologies and trends within the QA/QE space and incorporate the ones that are aligned with company’s OKRs;
  • Create/execute load and performance tests;
  • Help define multi-year QA automation roadmap;
  • Plan, execute large & complex automation projects;
  • Identify, document & present automation metrics for senior management.


  • Commit & complete projects before deadlines;
  • Set & achieve professional goals;
  • Responsible for all QA automation initiatives.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Ability to identify & communicate risks that could disrupt deadlines;
  • Effectively communicate work status or technical issues with senior management;
  • Give timely & helpful feedback to peers;
  • Facilitate meaningful discussion around complex issues.


  • Participate in onboarding peers/team members;
  • Share knowledge & expertise to help team grow;
  • Evangelize automation practices;
  • Represent QA team within the company;
  • Educate other departments about QA team’s work during tech townhall meetings;
  • Motivate & empower teammates to achieve higher level of performance.

What you'll bring

  • 8+ years of QA experience;
  • 5+ years of automation experience;
  • A personality that meshes well with our team: calm, strong, & optimistic;
  • Experience working in an Agile environment;
  • Ability to communicate clearly;
  • Ability to lead test automation activities.
  • Good working knowledge of any standard test framework;
  • Strong experience with Continuous Integration tools;
  • Excellent knowledge of Internet/Web technologies such as web browsers, Java Script, HTML, CSS, XPath & their use within web development;
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of multiple open source/commercial tools for Web test automation and Rest API automation;
  • Experience with Applitools;
  • Experience with performance testing tools;
  • Experience testing websites built in the WordPress or Drupal CMS;
  • Experience with database language & structure, such as MySQL;
