Your mission

The Backend Engineer will be part of the IT Engineering & Innovation team inside ITSG Product and will play an important role on analysing, improving and building the backend for new processes and services in the IT Service Group. She/he will need to be problem-solving oriented, with an excellent tech background. We need a team-player with outstanding technical skills, able to communicate technical issues, and to work with autonomy, proposing cutting edge solutions to difficult problems.

What you'll do

  • Build the backend of our tools and services to automate, simplify and de-risk processes.
  • Write code for our applications using programming patterns and following industry best practice
  • Align with front-end Engineers, so seamless integration of application workflows is possible
  • Write automated tests
  • Investigate and diagnose problems, assign or carry out code and deployment fixes, and keep documents up to date.
  • Get together with other creative thinkers to build your understanding of players and explore what they want
  • Keep up to speed with cut-edge technologies
  • Make workflows more efficient and the systems more stable.

What you'll bring

  • +3 years experience developing APIs and backend applications
  • Equipped with Python development know how. Django experience a must. 
  • Understanding of relational databases and handling large datasets (PostgreSQL is desirable and MySQL a plus)
  • Linux skills - Ansible knowledge is nice. Puppet skills are also welcomed.
  • Exposure to systems and/or network automation and monitoring (a plus)
  • Familiar with virtualization platforms. Kubernetes is a plus.
  • A talented programmer, up to date with programming patterns and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
