What you'll do

You will be responsible for the HR function in the Malaga office, leading a team of People and Talent specialists and partnering with Senior Leadership of different Business Units, and with People leader of other locations.

In this all-round encompassing role, you will provide high quality operational HR advice across the full range of the employee life cycle in order to support people managers, and the wider HR team, achieve the desired business goals, values, and culture.

The People Manager will be responsible for implementing and supporting a broad range of HR initiatives with the Malaga office as the scope of responsibility, to support our fast-moving organisation. These include performance and talent management, employee relations, compensation, and benefits co-ordination, workforce planning, and organisational development.

You will enable the business to build its competitive advantage through people. The successful candidate will be someone with the gravitas to become the People leader reference in the office, strong influential and negotiation skills, and a creative and pragmatic mindset towards problem-solving.

In addition, the People Manager will have an eye for detail, thrives in a demanding environment, and has the ability to tackle competing priorities. This position is pivotal in facilitating operational success by providing a wide range of services in a fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment to a pool of multiple Business Units, with a shared services approach.  The successful candidate will have responsibility for the day to day of the department and will work closely with the HR Business Partners of the different business units with presence in the Malaga office, as well as with Talent Acquisition, the Group HR  Specialists and other members of the People team on a variety of projects. You will:

  • Work closely with Business Partners, management, and teams across Tech Co
  • Serve as the primary point of contact pertaining to HR issues and queries, ensuring they are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Oversee management of the Malaga People team and processes
  • Supervise HR Operations
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition leaders and teams in maintaining a competitive candidate pipeline via a competitive EVP, a pulse in the salary benchmark, and a cooperative pool of interviewing teams.
  • Coach and support managers with the application of performance management
  • Support all recruiting efforts ensuring compliance with established hiring procedures and immigration requirements
  • Co-ordinate the annual compensation review process
  • Contribute to the identification, development, and retention of key talent across teams
  • Identify gaps in capability or process understanding, liaising with Learning and Development, Business Partners and supporting managers in implementing ad hoc learning modules to address these gaps
  • Work closely with the Learning and Development team with initiatives and also act as a stakeholder to them by highlighting learning and development requirements
  • Contribute with the wider People team to the development and delivery of structural, cultural, and behavioural plans in pursuit of achieving team and Company OKR’s
  • Support and participate in change initiatives using the appropriate tools to ensure consistency throughout the change processes
  • Actively look for opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and delivery to ensure we are ahead of the curve, proactively suggesting new ideas
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation and new trends in HR best practice
  • Support the development of high-performance culture

What you'll bring

  • Proven HR experience in a multilingual environment, preferably in the IT industry
  • Effective results as a manager in supporting the growth and development of direct reports
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent.
  • Proven expertise on current Spanish Employment Law and other HR-related legislation
  • Proven expertise on the administration of Spanish Benefits, and ability to stay up to date on benchmark trends
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent work ethic. A strong team player who adopts a mentoring approach to development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide sound judgment
  • High degree of adaptability and flexibility to change
  • Excellent computer skills. Proficiency in Excel, Power Point, Word
  • Flexible with work schedule and assignments
  • Complete fluency in English, both written and spoken is essential
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, results orientated
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines
