Your Mission
We’re looking for a Big Data Software Engineer to join our team in Malaga. You’ll work with large volumes of fast-moving data across multi-tiered analytics platforms to design, build, and support a high-performance real-time data platform. This includes data streaming, data lakes, and analytics databases.

What you'll do
- You will design, develop, and maintain real-time data pipelines and platforms.
- You will implement complex data transformations and enrichment on streaming data.
- You will collaborate with team members through knowledge sharing and peer reviews.
- You will support performance tuning and explore new ways to improve efficiency.
- You will build monitoring and alerting systems to ensure data quality and system health.
- You will keep up-to-date with new data technologies and tools.
What you'll bring
- You’ll bring a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 2+ years of data engineering experience.
- You’ll bring experience handling large, fast-moving datasets including relational, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- You’ll bring knowledge of database design, ETL processes, and multidimensional data modeling.
- You’ll bring experience with Kafka/Kafka Connect and data processing tools like Apache Spark, Flink, or Beam.
- You’ll bring familiarity with Hadoop Clusters, preferably Cloudera.
- You’ll bring strong programming skills in Java and Python; Scala is a plus.
- You’ll bring experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and SQL performance tuning.
- You’ll bring a problem-solving mindset, ownership, and enthusiasm for technical challenges.
- You’ll bring the ability to work well in a team and strong communication skills in English.
- You’ll bring experience with data quality standards and metrics (this is a plus).
Nice to have
- Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
- Knowledge of Exasol is helpful.
- Familiarity with scripting skills such as Shell scripting is beneficial.
