What you'll do

The Enterprise Applications Specialist will be part of a team that supports and maintains our 24x7 mission critical Corporate Applications.

The responsibilities include implementation of new applications, configuration, upgrades and maintenance, optimization, as well as tier 3 support.

You will work with some of the brightest IT professionals in the industry using only the latest and best in class tools and platforms. With peers and clients locally and around the world, you will support leading edge infrastructures and services for 1000+ users, focused on ensuring high availability and performance. 

You will:

  • Work with business systems analysts, application owners and users to define application requirements, locate viable solution alternatives, implement, test and support the selected solutions
  • Provide analysis and problem definition for production issues
  • Collaborate with team members in the areas of systems development and support
  • Resolve known issues, escalate to vendors or internal support
  • Conduct application testing as new deliverables are received from vendors
  • Evaluate new tools based on requirements
  • Write documentation to describe application installation, operating procedures and application objectives
  • Participating in an on-call support rotation to provide technical support
  • Responsible of implementation of application and/or database updates and patching after hours
  • Implement best practices in application systems and network security
  • Willing to learn new applications and technologies
  • Drive continuous performance improvements: identify and implement process & procedures that improve the effectiveness of users
  • Provide technical guidance in projects
  • Responsible of the application supportability and continuous communication with support teams
  • Drive the standardization of applications maintenance and apply automation when possible

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated experience in a systems administration role for either applications servers or operation systems such as:
    • Windows 2003-2016 Server
    • IIS, Exchange, AD, LDAP, RDS, MS SQL
    • Linux or Unix
    • Apache, MySQL, Postfix or Sendmail
    • Enterprise class applications with 200+ users
  • Good knowledge of SQL with ability to optimize queries, stored procedures, jobs and database performance.
  • Solid understanding of: networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, etc.
  • Ideally experience with openStack and with automation languages such as Ansible or Poweshell.
  • Experience with Enterprise Application including deployments and support.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics AX, MSSQL, VMWare, Remote Desktop Services, FileHold, Tableau, Jeonsoft, Atlassian tools would be an asset.
  • Integration of services in a multi-platform environment, including Linux and Mac OS X.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with the ability to research and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Ability to analyze, diagnose, suggest and implement process changes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Related education/certification relevant for the role.
