Your mission
We are looking for a security engineering manager to lead our Engineering Security team and ensure the security of our products and services. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of security solutions, as well as managing security incidents and vulnerabilities.
As a security engineering manager, you will have strong technical skills and experience in security engineering, software development as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. You will be able to mentor and coach your team members, foster a culture of trust and collaboration and interacts with other teams and stakeholders across the organisation.
Further to this, you will contribute to the security strategy of the Engineering Security team across all products and delivery teams
What you'll do
- Manage hiring, retention and career development of the Engineering Security team ensuring a consistently high-performing well-balanced talent pool is maintained.
- Define and execute engineering plans, manage scheduling and resource allocation ensuring alignment to business priorities and architectural strategy.
- Help define and execute the security engineering strategy and roadmap, aligned with the company's goals and priorities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to the team on security architecture, design, development, testing and deployment of security solutions
- Establish and enforce security standards, policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices
- Lead the team to monitor and analyse the security posture of Tech Co. products and services, and identify and remediate any security risks or issues
- Work alongside Customer Service Desk to lead and coordinate the response to security incidents and vulnerabilities, conduct root cause analysis and lessons learned
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, customers and delivery team on security matters
- Stay abreast of the latest security trends, threats and technologies, and continuously improve the team's skills and capabilities
- Coach and mentor employees through example, advice and correction; help them to expand their capacity and the capacity of their teams.
What you'll bring
- Experience in security engineering, preferably in a software development environment
- Experience in managing or leading a team of security engineers or similar roles will be a plus
- Solid knowledge of security principles, frameworks, standards and best practices, such as OWASP, NIST etc.
- Familiarity with security assessments, audits, penetration testing and vulnerability management
- Experience in developing secure code and implementing secure development lifecycle (SDLC) processes
- Experience in handling security incidents and breaches, and performing incident response and forensics
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment, taking multiple initiatives forward at the same time
- Full English professional proficiency
