Your Mission
As a Network Engineer you will assist with the design, build and operation of our Networking equipment and associated Infrastructure.
This role will work with other teams to ensure the performance, availability, and security of our Networks is maintained. You will be a main point of contact for various teams for Network topics, as well as being responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, provisioning of Networking equipment (switches, routers, firewalls and load balancers etc), the infrastructure required to support their operation (cabling, WAN link, ISP connectivity etc), also day-to-day maintenance of Production and Non Production Networking environments.
You will work with some of the brightest IT professionals in the industry using only the latest and best in class tools and platforms. With peers and clients locally and around the world, you will support leading edge infrastructures and services for 1000+ users, focused on ensuring high availability and performance.
What you'll do
- Be the Level 3 technical assistance to support staff and participate in an on-call support rotation to ensure the performance, security and availability of 24x7 mission critical Networks is maintained
- Act as an advisor for the team on projects, working with appropriate stakeholders capturing requirements, offering assistance and providing recommendations and solutions where required
- Play a key role in the design, implementation and support of technical solutions for Networking equipment
- Follow agreed procedures to identify and resolve issues with our Networks
- Monitor performance of Networks including using management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics
- Apply permanent fixes or temporary workarounds for identified faults
- Responsible for Network equipment/Infrastructure support also third party escalation with vendors including assisting with root cause analysis and communicating to relevant parties
- Identified enhancement of Network equipment and drive the standardization of Network lifecycle and maintenance, applying automation when possible as part of a continuous improvement process
- Implementing working practises to support iterative developments/deployment of Network equipment and associated infrastructure
What you'll bring
- Demonstrated capabilities and breadth of IT experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in an IT administration or support role using technologies such as:
- Cisco Routing, Switching and SDWAN products
- Other Networking equipment such as Supermicro switches
- Firewalling products such as Palo Alto
- Load balancing products such as F5
- Experience working within an ITIL framework
- Solid troubleshooting skills, with the ability to research and solve technical issues
- Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Consultative approach with supporting various teams with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
Nice to have:
- User Experience with some of the following technologies would be an asset: OpenStack, VMWare, Remote Desktop Services, Project Management principles, CRM, Collaboration Tools, Monitoring Tools (Grafana, Icinga) and Atlassian software stack
- Experience managing end customers
