Your mission
The Software Engineer will be a fundamental part of our engineering team, responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment. You will collaborate closely with teams of product, design and other engineering functions to create high-quality software solutions that meet our stakeholders’ requirements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to continuous learning and improvement.
What you'll do
- Develop high quality, maintainable code, and scalable solutions
- Work closely with other specialists (quality, security, product) to make our software design, delivery, and quality unbeatable.
- Contribute to overall strategic priorities and roadmaps, working together with architects and product owners/managers
- Solution design; back to front, employing top technologies and industry best practices
- Share your knowledge and experience with colleagues as well as developing your skills by experimenting with and learning new technologies
- Participate in analysis, design, and delivery of end to end features
- Take ownership of system stability over the different environments
- Identify opportunities to improve work processes and efficiency, not settling or satisfying with the status quo
- Think ahead and bring solutions for future problems
- Participate in the on-call support when needed
What you'll bring
- Positive, growth mindset, knowledge sharing, and creativity while problem-solving with others.
- Demonstrated back-end skills and/or strong front-end skills (you don't need to be proficient in both, but willing to learn)
- Experience in DevOps, Testing, Quality and Security practices
- Good understanding of what quality code means (clean code & testing) and understanding of web-based applications
- Good testing practices (unit, component, and E2E testing).
- Ability to prioritize work, and collaborate with the business (e.g. Product, BI, Design, and Talent Teams)
- Understanding of architecture and how other systems work.
- An agile approach to development, and a good understanding of lean and agile methodologies.
- CI/CD approach to work and understanding of CI/CD tools.
- Collaborative, respectful attitude, and good communication skills in English.
- Curiosity to learn new languages/frameworks, to experiment and try out new technologies.
What you will use most of the time
- C++ 14 (your main speciality).
- WinAPI-based applications with non-blocking WinSock I/O running any relying on custom event threads.
- Boost library (very lightly).
- C++ testing frameworks (gtest, gmock).
- Build tools (Maven, Visual Studio) as well as version control systems (Git).
- MS SQL (mostly Stored Procedures).
- Message brokers (Kafka).
- Concurrent programming and threading.
What you will use from time to time
- Java, Scala, C#.
- Web development (JS/Angular/React).
- Web services (REST).
- Spring boot, Spring cloud, Akka Framework.
- Testing frameworks (JUnit, Jasmine, JBehave, Selenium, Test Containers) and testing practices, contract testing (Pact).
- Build tools (Maven, NPM, Webpack).
- Containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Postgres, Redis, Etcd.
