Accounting Manager
Who we are
We build game-changing products and scalable platforms for complex, high-volume digital markets. Our cross-functional teams create online platforms as well as software solutions that reach hundreds of thousands of users daily.
Your mission
The Accounting Manager will own the accounting integrity and close process across a multi-country structure (Spain, Colombia, Croatia), ensuring compliance with local GAAP/PGC and IFRS (SMEs) in each jurisdiction.
This role reports directly to the Head of Finance/Finance Director and acts as the key link between local accounting operations and group-level financial control, requiring the judgment to navigate differing local requirements while maintaining a consistent group reporting standard.
The successful candidate must combine technical accounting depth with the leadership maturity to manage a team across jurisdictions, and the stakeholder skills to engage confidently with the Finance Director, external auditors, and local management in each country.
What you'll do
Leadership & team management
Lead, manage and develop a team of 3-5 finance professionals (finance assistants, management accountants) across different locations, including performance management and capability building across varying levels of local technical knowledge
Act as the escalation point for technical accounting judgment calls raised by the team, deciding when an issue needs to go to the Finance Director versus being resolved locally
Financial control & close
Own the month-end and year-end close process across all three jurisdictions in accordance with group policies and reporting deadlines, coordinating timing differences driven by local statutory requirements
Lead monthly Balance Sheet Reviews across entities, drive action plans on open items, and ensure timely resolution before deadlines slip into the following close
Monitor day-to-day accounting activities (payroll interface, invoicing, fixed assets) ensuring consistency across local teams and flagging process gaps between countries
Compliance & external relationships
Liaise with external auditors in each jurisdiction to ensure local statutory audits are completed within group deadlines, acting as the primary point of contact for audit fieldwork
Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT and other direct/indirect tax filings per jurisdiction (Modelo 303/347/349 and equivalents in the rest of locations, working with local tax advisors where required
Maintain audit-ready documentation and controls across entities, anticipating group or statutory audit requirements rather than reacting to them
Treasury & reporting
Responsible for cashflow reporting across the entities under remit, including short-term liquidity visibility and escalation of risk to the Finance Director
Support budget and forecasting cycles in partnership with Finance Business Partners/Financial Controllers, providing the local accounting perspective that informs group assumptions
Produce ad hoc analysis and reporting for the Finance Director and senior management, including input into board-level materials when accounting judgment or local context is required
Process & systems
Identify and drive process improvement and standardisation opportunities across the three jurisdictions, particularly where local practices diverge without a clear reason
Support the ongoing rollout/adoption of MS D365 F&O as group accounting system, acting as a local accounting subject-matter expert during implementation or post-go-live stabilisation
Stay current on accounting technology and tools relevant to a multi-entity, multi-GAAP environment
What you'll bring
Minimum 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct exposure to multi-jurisdiction or multi-entity environments
Proven leadership experience managing a finance team of 3+ people, ideally across different countries or time zones
Working knowledge of Spanish GAAP (PGC) and IFRS (SMEs); prior exposure to LatAm or Eastern European statutory frameworks is a strong plus, though not a hard requirement if the candidate demonstrates ability to learn local frameworks quickly with local support
Stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to engage a Finance Director/CFO and external auditors directly, not just execute on instructions
Comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity inherent to multi-country structures, including differing local practices and deadlines
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail, particularly in balance sheet reconciliation and audit-readiness
Problem-solving orientation: able to evaluate processes across entities and identify where standardisation adds value versus where local divergence is necessary
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish required, working knowledge of Portuguese or Croatian a plus but not required
Experience working to tight statutory deadlines across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously
Experience with MS D365 F&O strongly preferred; otherwise solid experience with a comparable ERP in a multi-entity setting
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel in particular, given multi-entity reconciliation and reporting needs)
Professional accounting qualification or equivalent (e.g. Licenciatura/Grado in ADE/Económicas, with ACCA/CIMA or local equivalent valued)
