What you'll do

The Finance Assistant will ensure a range of finance tasks are accounted for accurately and in a timely manner. The candidate must be able to handle highly sensitive and confidential matters relating to daily activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.
  • Review and verify purchase orders, invoices and goods received.
  • Sort, code and match invoices
  • Posting of invoices, payments onto accounting system (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of accounts payable records  
  • Development of account payable policies and procedures
  • Payment of supplies via online banking systems
  • Maintain vendor files including vendor terms and contact details
  • Research and resolve discrepancies
  • Accounts payable inbox management
  • Process and ensure accuracy of financial transactions in accounting system
  • Assist with month end accounting processes and reporting
  • Provide support where required to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of departmental responsibilities and achievement of goals

 What you'll bring

  • Experience in a similar finance position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting software (preference given to Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Proficiency with MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent organisational skills with a strong capacity to manage competing priorities;
  • Comfortable working with databases and reporting/budgetary tools;
