Your mission

The IT Engineering & Innovation Development Manager will be part of the IT Services Group (ITSG) Product team. The main target for this profile will be to manage the development cycle for the Product organisation at ITSG. This includes SDLC management aspects as well as people management.

What you'll do

You'll be responsible of a skilled team of technicians and will need to coordinate the timely development of production-ready product and services. You will promote your team self-autonomy, responsiveness and efficiency. You will need to interact with technical teams outside the organisation in outsourcing models to ensure an integrated final product. 

You will define and ensure that the correct processes are applied for a clear and agreed roadmap in a demonstrable way through data. Finally, you will interact with Product Managers and Business stakeholders, as well as with other teams inside and outside ITSG to remove blockers and impediments for the team. In addition, amongst other tasks, you will:

  • Define, protect and ensure technical quality standards for ITSG developed products 
  • Be the responsible of ensuring overall productivity within the team 
  • Be the people manager for the IT Systems Engineering team, including professional development, mentoring and performance reviews involvement
  • Sponsor ownership and accountability at all levels within the team aiming to promote an autonomous development team
  • Manage a distributed team, so some time flexibility is required for this role
  • Interact with Product Managers and Business stakeholders, as well as with other teams inside and outside ITSG to remove blockers and impediments for the team.
  • Be the team go-to person and representative towards senior management and stakeholders
  • Balance service and product work for IT Systems Engineering team (Kanban vs. scrum)
  • Assist in project planning, oversee development and overall support of the team throughout the products' software development lifecycle
  • Coordinate with outsourced teams
  • Enable SW development speed assessment and data-driven decisions via stats dashboards
  • Handle and own SDLC ceremonies
  • Lead the team beyond managing tickets or process within established procedures, inspiring them, challenging the status quo as well as existing solutions and approaches
  • Lead incident root cause analysis and work with the team to identify long term preventive measures and adapt existing processes accordingly

What you'll bring

  • Demonstrated +5 years experience in Development Management roles
  • Vast experience in managing teams in Agile environments. JIRA is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience as a people manager
  • A passion for software development processes, methodologies and technologies
  • Creative problem-solving mindset, can-do attitude and leadership skills
  • Have worked in IT and SW projects, with distributed teams
  • A demonstrated capability in engaging and communicating with senior management stakeholders
  • A demonstrated capability in staff development
  • Business fluency in English
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good communication and team player skills
  • Well organised, ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Self-driven, Self-starter, growth mindset.
