What you'll do

You’ll be an experienced project professional who is passionate about delivering great results. You would be excited by the challenges associated with a wide range of generalist and strategic projects and at times specialist initiatives that include IT infrastructure and software development.

You will work closely with stakeholders and teams from across different areas of the business on wide ranging and varied projects. Experienced in the delivery of complex solutions and with the ability to think analytically and strategically, you will have the confidence to engage senior stakeholders where necessary. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable managing a portfolio of concurrent projects globally.

You will:

  • Drive the progress of critical projects towards key business objectives
  • Deliver control, governance and organisation to assigned projects
  • Plan for upwards and outwards communication and provide regular project status reports
  • Prepare and manage project plans, milestones and timelines
  • Capture and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and decisions in an organised, structured and coherent manner
  • Work with key stakeholders and other project managers to establish overall plans and actively manage dependencies
  • Support the development and delivery of the Project Management Office (PMO) function including the creation and maintenance of templates and documentation
  • Monitor and ensure good governance structures within project and programme delivery
  • Take ownership and responsibility of leading specific projects within the PMO to ensure on-time delivery of projects and change initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with the PMO team and support work assigned to them
  • Some travel may be required 

What you’ll bring

  • At least two to three years of experience working on a variety of projects, either within a PMO function or as a stand-alone Project Manager with exposure to a variety of projects that may include business projects, integration projects, office moves and departmental process improvement. Any exposure to application implementation, change initiatives, infrastructure projects and software development experience would be a plus
  • Proficient skills in managing projects through the entire project life-cycle, from inception to completion, as well as providing ad-hoc project management skills support for short term assignments
  • Very strong stakeholder management skills and experience
  • Great time management skills and you’ll be highly organised. You’ll be able to work on multiple projects independently in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment
  • Credible and persuasive, you’ll bring influencing, networking and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written, spoken and presentation)
  • Experience/knowledge that enables you to understand and participate in various business discussions
  • Proficiency in using management software tools (e.g. Atlassian, Jira)
  • Problem solving skills with a positive attitude to overcoming challenges, mitigating risks and adapting to change
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently and in a team setting
  • Project management qualification preferred (PMI/Prince 2/ITL/Agile, MSP)
