What you'll do

You’ll be a hands-on technologist designing the best technical solution for our range of payment products, built on blockchain principles.

Your role will take ownership of the architecture of the fintech product suite, working closely with the Group CTO and the Director of Engineering to define the best solution for the use case. You’ll be architecting a fintech ecosystem to support the processing and management of payments for online gaming and beyond.

You’ll work with the Product team to build an architectural roadmap that helps achieve our long-term product goals.

The Engineering team primarily works on high performing transactional financial services applications built on Java/JEE/JavaScript/Cassandra/Elastic. We run services orchestrated in Kubernetes and are always interested in new technologies.

You will:

  • Define and evangelise the future state architecture of our proprietary fintech products.
  • Review existing architecture and add improvements to a robust architectural roadmap.
  • Identify and own delivery of non-functional requirements such as Extensibility, Reusability, Performance, Scalability and Security.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering Teams to enforce architecture, development standards and best practice.
  • Act as an advocate and evangelist for technologies and following best practice, including coaching, mentoring and leadership.
  • Consult during delivery lifecycle to ensure the team adhere to the principles defined.
  • Bring new ideas to the team, ideating new use cases and leveraging our technology for our customer growth.
  • Work closely with the Group CTO and our fintech engineering teams.
  • Have a hands-on approach, coding prototypes and examples when required.
  • Define and implement best practice to architecture deliverables.

What you'll bring

  • A demonstration of solid experience in software development, including design, build and support.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among many stakeholders.
  • Solid experience of cloud computing.
  • Good experience of Java and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on with a desire to code by example.
  • Experience in developing high volume transactional applications, with a good understanding of performance bottlenecks and how to fix/prevent them.
  • Exposure to blockchain and decentralised applications.
  • Exposure to cryptography.
  • A good understanding of message queueing, database frameworks (inc. NoSQL).
  • Passionate in building cutting-edge, high quality applications.
  • The ability to context switch and be adaptable to change.
