If so, we are looking to expand the London Engineering team with experienced software engineers with experience of high performing transactional financial services applications built on a Java/ JEE/ JavaScript/ Cassandra/ Elasticsearch. We run services in containers, orchestrated with Kubernetes and are always interested in new technologies.

You will join our high-profile team of full-stack developers, with a strong passion for emerging technologies. This will provide a great opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and develop your interests across projects in Blockchain.

What you'll do

• Contribute to overall strategic direction and roadmaps
• Solution design; back to front, employing top technologies and industry best practices
• Share your knowledge and experience with colleagues as you coach them and mentor them, helping the team to grow their skills, as well as developing your own skills by experimenting with and learning new technologies
• Develop high quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions
• Own analysis, design and delivery of end to end features
• Take ownership of system stability over the different environments
• Investigate new tools/ technologies/ ideas to promote further improvements of the system
• Promote best practices, existing development guidelines and continuous code improvements. 

What you'll bring

• Server-side Java development
• SpringBoot, JPA
• A proven track record of playing a hands-on role within a fast-paced organisation
• Experience in scaling infrastructure and ensuring the system is performant
• Good DevOps practices (troubleshooting, ssh, logs, metrics)
• Experience designing and maintaining microservice based architectures
• Experience of algorithmic programming in multiple languages
• Passionate in building cutting-edge, high quality applications
• Quick learner, creative thinker, researcher mind-set, delivery focus
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to context switch and be adaptable to change
• Comfortable with a “you build it, you run it” culture
• Willingness to work outside of area of expertise
• Strong understanding of QA concepts (TDD, BDD)
